He then carried forward this connection with fans over to Hollywood. However, it seems like the ‘People’s Champion’s’ daughter, Simone Johnson, isn’t interested to follow suit.

Simone Johnson might follow in her father’s footsteps in the world of pro wrestling, but she doesn’t want the same connection with the fans like The Rock had. In fact, she doesn’t even want her real name to define her WWE character.

Ava Raine, as she is now known in WWE, is a fiercely independent person. She needs no free passes, and it shows from her attitude in the ring and outside of it.

Recently, the 20-year-old WWE Star took to Twitter during NXT 2.0. She appreciated fellow superstar Arianna Grace for being mean to people and then went to ask if she could be her friend.

The second-generation superstar was quick to respond to Ava Raine. She instantly accepted her friendship proposal and added that she is misunderstood by other people in NXT/WWE.

However, from the initial looks that have gone viral online, it is certain Simone‘s character, Ava Raine, is no beauty pageant winner. In fact, her look suggests she is more of a blackheart, who is out there to take what’s hers, and that is, the spotlight!

‘The Final Girl’ is definitely debuting on-screen as a heel. Her recent tweets, and promos during NXT Live Events echo the same message. When we think of it, and the family Simone comes from, being a heel is more ‘natural’ to her than being a babyface.

In case you didn’t know, Simone Johnson, aka Ava Raine, is related to some of the greatest heels in WWE history; Yokozuna, Umaga, Rikishi, The Usos and Roman Reigns to name a few.

During her first promo during a NXT live event, Ava Raine put the entire women’s division on notice. In addition, she told the fans that she is the embodiment of NXT 2.0.

The fourth-generation wrestler said, “My name is Ava Raine. While I was walking down here, I saw the curiosity in your eyes, wondering what type of superstar I will be. Ava Raine is the embodiment of NXT 2.0. I am something fresh, I am something new, I am something you all have been craving.”

But so far, the way she has carried herself shows she is not taking the easy road her family strived for years to make. She will carve her own path out of nothing. And we’re sure The Rock will be nothing but proud!
