After being removed from his position as the Executive Director of Raw, Paul Heyman has made his first major WWE appearance. The world’s best advocate was seen doing what he does best – selling a product.

This time, it wasn’t the abilities of his client Brock Lesnar. Heyman was tasked with promoting WWE’s latest offering in the gaming world. While Esports is all the rage in the times of the pandemic, WWE seem to have taken an impulsive decision to ensure that 2k20 is not the last thing that remains on the minds of its fans.

The game was disastrous for WWE and 2k’s reputation with its nagging bugs and poor response from the team in fixing them.

With that in mind, WWE 2K Battlegrounds has been launched with an all new interface and outlook.

To show that the company is actually serious about salvaging itself in the eyes of gamers, it roped Paul Heyman to do the lip service for the game despite the recent history.

On his part, Heyman did a great job at hyping up the game which has received a mixed response from gaming enthusiasts so far.

The game will feature the arcade mode, which will be a departure from the simulation mode used in WWE 2k offerings. As Heyman explains, the game will see a “No Holds Barred” setting where the brawls will have no limits.

The game offers several modes

It will offer various modes to the players. Interestingly, one of these modes allows you to collaborate with Heyman himself! In the campaign mode, you travel with Heyman and “Stone Cold” Steve Austin throughout the world to recruit Superstars for a new WWE brand.

On the other hand, the exhibition mode allows you to slug it out with four other players, either online or on your couch. Various iterations of the matches are possible like one-to-one contests, tag team matches etc.

The third mode on offer is the King of the Battleground mode. The goal is to be the last one standing in an online competition featuring up to seven other players. With a slight variation, the Online Tournament mode takes you on a journey where you play with the world in online, time limited competitions.

Finally, the most interesting version is the Battleground Challenge mode. This will allow you to create your own new player with your own specifications. After building your character from scratch, the world is your playground.

Needless to say, WWE and 2k are pulling out all the stops to create something innovative for the fans. The game will be developed by Saber Interactive and will be available on gaming platform beginning September 18. Are you excited about this launch?
