August 23rd is just eight days away and we are getting closer and closer to the biggest party of the summer i.e. WWE SummerSlam. On the latest edition of Friday night SmackDown, another match got added to the PPV card.

Two weeks ago, Otis and Mandy Rose returned to WWE TV and were getting ready to go on a date. However, Rose was attacked by her returning nemesis Sonya Deville, who spoilt her makeup and cut her hair.

During the latest edition of SmackDown, Mandy Rose cut a promo backstage. Rose would then challenge Deville for a “hair vs hair” match at SummerSlam.

This is the moment that Sonya Deville had been waiting for. She was looking for a chance to decimate her former tag team partner.

In her own words, she wanted to expose Mandy Rose and show the world that her beautiful exterior was starkly opposite to her ugly interior. The challenge was what Deville waited for and on the receipt she accepted.

WWE confirms the match between Sonya Deville and Mandy Rose for SummerSlam

Sometime after Sonya Deville accepted Mandy Rose’s Hair vs hair match challenge, WWE confirmed the match for 23rd August at SummerSlam.

This rivalry has now been on for months. It started in December 2019 when Mandy Rose and Otis would meet for the first time and fall in love with each other.

Otis and Rose would agree for a date on Valentine’s day. Surprisingly, Dolph Ziggler appeared on a date with Mandy which made Otis feel helpless and walk away.

This would later create heat between Otis and Ziggler as the two fought for Rose’s affection. However, the long-forgotten SmackDown hacker would play devil’s advocate and reveal the truth.

Since then, the rivalry has been on for months and months. There was a stall in between as both ladies would be absent from WWE due to COVID – 19 and various other procedures.

With the addition of Heavy Machinery and Miz and Morrison to the side of the respective women, this rivalry has huge potential. The feud got a good restart a fortnight back when Rose was attacked.

If the booking is done correctly, this feud has a bright future.
