The Godfather was one of many legends who appeared at WWE Survivor Series 2020 to pay tribute to the Undertaker. Taker called the curtains on his WWE career on his 30th Anniversary in WWE.

Fans left comments on the Godfather’s Instagram posts, citing that the Final Farewell was an extremely disappointing affair. One fan said, “What was the point of having you all there and say nothing. It was awesome to see you back on TV but I wanted more.”

To this, the Godfather replied, “Could’ve been written better.”

Another fan commented, “The whole “Farewell” was pretty boring. You guys all came to the ring…for what?”

The Godfather simply replied, “Right.”

One of the funniest comments was, “There is zero creativity anymore. Flat out lazy and boring. This was LAZY and uninspired. Seeing you all hang out at the hotel would have been more entertaining.”

The Godfather’s reply took the humour to another level- “Well said. And your right the night before was epic.”

Undertaker announced his retirement at WWE Survivor Series 2020

The Undertaker’s retirement announcement was long overdue, but the circumstances surrounding it were very underwhelming. Instead of a hundred thousand fans chanting ‘Thank You Taker’, we got noise piped in from the ThunderDome speakers.

WWE realised how important kayfabe is in maintaining the Undertaker’s aura. The Deadman announced his retirement in less than ftwo minutes. Daniel Bryan’s retirement speech was six minutes long, while Edge’s announcement was eight minutes long.

The appearance by WWE legends and The Undertaker’s biggest rivals yielded absolutely nothing. We expected the legends to cut some nostalgic promos on the Deadman, or narrate some funny stories from the past, but what transpired was very underwhelming.

Undertaker deserved a better retirement, and the Godfather did nothing more than agree with it. Roman Reigns vs Drew McIntyre would’ve been a far better choice to close out the show.

The Big Dog and The WWE Champion had an amazing outing. Taker paying respect to Paul Bearer was an incredible moment, but what led to that moment led the Godfather and the WWE Universe down.
