The Conga line might be restarting once again, with reports of No Way Jose possibly returning to WWE. The wrestler was released from the WWE this year as part of the COVID-19 budget cuts. As per Inside the Ropes, the company might be interested in signing him once again.

WWE reportedly filed for the No Way Jose trademark, which spiked interests and rumours started to float around. If WWE did file for No Way Jose’s trademark, it could mean that the character would remain with the WWE and he won’t be allowed to accept bookings via that name.

After his release, No Way Jose made several appearances on the independent scene as Levy Valenz. It was rather unfortunate for Jose to see his dream job just fade away, especially after being one of the most fun superstars on the roster.

Jose spoke to Inside the Ropes in April 2020, right after his release. He spoke about the dark day where a bunch of wrestlers were released, and how his friends in the company cheered him up even though he was not exactly comfortable talking about it.

A huge hit at NXT and even on the main roster

No Way Jose was NXT’s liveliest superstar. He was able to work up crowds with his smile and energy that was purely infectious. The Conga train was a huge hit with the fans and was even brought along with him to the main roster.

He made very few appearances on Raw, even though he debuted in 2018. Jose was mostly used as a jobber or was a comedy wrestler. He competed at PPVs, but only in battle royals and his WrestleMania moments came in the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal.

His most memorable match on Raw came against former WWE Champion Drew McIntyre. Drew was being built as WWE’s newest mega star, and in doing so, he needed to get his finisher over. Unfortunately for Jose, he was the one chosen to have his head kicked off.

Circumstances surrounding his release were tear-jerking

His final WWE appearance came against Bobby Lashley, where he was again squashed. Jose recalls flying back to his home, thinking his job was safe after the match. It is indeed sad that he had his heart broken due to the budget cuts.

News of his return is good news for Jose, who could be a big signing for either brand. He was tremendously over with the Conga line gimmick, and with an added motivation of being given a second opportunity, he could really make this one count.
