There are rumors of a match cancellation with only a few hours to go for WWE Clash of Champions 2020. Bayley’s challenger Nikki Cross might be unavailable for the SmackDown women’s title match.

According to Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer, Nikki Cross’ availability at the pay-per-view can’t be confirmed at the moment. She was also absent from this week’s SmackDown.

“If she’s there [at Clash of Champions], she’s there. I asked this morning [on Saturday] if she was going to be there, and nobody got back to me, which is your answer.”

Meltzer reached out to WWE to confirm Nikki Cross’s participation. However, no one answered him which is answer enough, according to him.

Nikki was previously seen on last week’s SmackDown where she defeated Lacey Evans. She also reconciled with best friend Alexa Bliss and vowed to save her from The Fiend. Hence, it is weird that Cross was not there when The Fiend actually confronted Bliss this week.

It’s possible that Nikki is getting prepared for her match but officials not confirming her presence is definitely suspicious. Cross’ absence could be attributed to the second COVID-19 outbreak in WWE.

WWE made sure that no one from the two affected areas came to the arena in Amway Center. Nevertheless, it seems like Nikki Cross is taking extra precautions.

Hopefully, Nikki Cross will face Bayley in the title match. However, there are high chances of it being interrupted due to appearances from Sasha Banks or Alexa Bliss.
