WWE SmackDown: November 26th, 2021, featured the Black Friday Invitational Battle Royal as the main event. Some of the Superstars in this match were The Viking Raiders, Cesaro, Sami Zayn, Jeff Hardy, Sheamus, Ricochet, and many others.

It was a match between 20 SmackDown Superstars, and whoever won would become the number #1 for the WWE Universal Championship against Roman Reigns.

Any time there’s a Battle Royal, its absolute chaos.

The idea was that a Superstar who was eliminated cannot return to the ring during the match in any shape or form.

One moment that stood out during the match was Madcap trying to eliminate Happy Corbin. Considering they’ve been working together prior to Battle Royal, this was an interesting moment, possibly revealing a future storyline.

Now, after a hard battle, the final four left in the ring were Jeff Hardy, Sheamus, Ricochet, and Happy Corbin. It boiled down to Hardy and Sheamus, and the former secured the win.

While Hardy was celebrating his win in the corner, Sami Zayn pushed Hardy out! It so happened that no one eliminated Zayn. He left the ring via the middle rope after getting knocked by The Viking Raiders.

With a twist of fate, Sami Zayn became the #1 contender against Roman Reigns.

Sami Zayn may need to deal with Brock Lesnar first

A title opportunity is always a huge one. And on WWE SmackDown, several have been trying to score a match against The Tribal Chief. Therefore, Zayn was ecstatic when he got the chance.

Kayla Braxton came out to the ring to interview him, but she received massive news – Brock Lesnar was returning to WWE SmackDown the following week (December 3rd, 2021).

Now, if The Beast is coming back, he’s coming back for Roman Reigns. There is no way he wouldn’t pursue The Universal Championship immediately after coming back to SmackDown.

Therefore, Zayn needs to deal with Brock Lesnar first before he can lay hands on Roman Reigns. Judging by their sizes, Lesnar can snap Zayn in two. Being the #1 contender means nothing if Sami Zayn has someone like Brock Lesnar standing in his way.
