WWE Star Turned Hollywood Actor Worth $16M Adds Another Income Source to His Portfolio

WWE has gifted Hollywood a few notable superstars through the years. All of them have certainly found a fortune and are even better known around the world by the characters they play. There’s no need for introduction for these massive icons, yet the top ones are Dwayne The Rock Johnson, John Cena, and Dave Batista.

‘The Animal’ was a wild one to tame on the ring, but he made his career take an amazing turn by packing for Hollywood. Batista grew into the peak of popularity, representing ‘the present’ in the Evolution era. And in Hollywood, he played a few notable roles, but most famously in the Avengers and Guardians of the Galaxy franchise. Recently, the Marvel actor who is now worth $16 million started another business with a new tattoo parlor in Tampa Bay.

Dave Batista opens a new tattoo shop in Florida

More than a professional athlete, Dave Batista had a passion to be an entertainer. The six-time world champion had a captivating charisma that often stayed hidden behind the rugged exterior and in-ring persona. Meanwhile, a light-hearted and humorous side of the Batista always gives a glint when he plays the intergalactic criminal, Drax the Destroyer.

Recently, the former Heavyweight champion has now opened a new venture in the world of tattoos.

His tattoo studio, named DC Society Ink, is situated in Tampa, Florida. The location of the shop is important to Batista, as it was the town he grew up in. So this is a nod to the place he holds dear, more than just a business.

While talking to the Tampa Bay Times, Dave Batista said, “This is completely personal for me. I don’t need this. My career is doing great, but this is like a clubhouse for me. I wanted to create an environment for people who want to get a tattoo. But they don’t want to go into one of those tattoo parlors. It’s intimidating and scary and your average person is uncomfortable in that environment.”

Moreover, Big Dave said that the tattoo studio was a dream for him for a long time. His partner in the enterprise is John Kural, who is also his personal tattoo artist. As Kural will be operating the place, Batista added that he is just the money guy.
