AEW has provided a platform for many wrestlers to showcase their talents as well as give fans an option other than WWE to watch wrestling. They have some wrestlers who made their name in WWE while also having a plethora of ‘home-grown’ talent. These young stars have excited the audience with their in-ring talent, charisma and mic skills. They have put on some memorable matches and promos in a short span of time that have got the people talking and generated a buzz around the product.

When we talk about creating a buzz, it is hard to leave out one of the most talented AEW stars, Maxwell Jacob Friedman, MJF. From the very beginning, MJF has been a key component of what AEW represents and has only grown in stature.

After his fiery promo on Dynamite a few months ago where he targeted AEW owner Tony Khan, The Salt of the Earth did a complete u-turn praising his boss while also professing his love for WWE.

MJF praised AEW owner Tony Khan

MJF has been one of the standout talents in AEW and looks to have a promising future ahead of him. His feuds with the likes of Chris Jericho and CM Punk are some of the best in recent memory. Moreover, his promo on AEW Dynamite in June, where he targeted owner Tony Khan, blurred the line between kayfabe and reality and was the hot topic of the wrestling world.

He attacked Khan verbally for favoring ex-WWE guys and not paying him enough money. But after the recent episode of Dynamite, he went out of his heel character to commend Khan and also talked about his love for WWE.

“They Need WWE to Survive..” – Hard-Hitting AEW Promo Taking a Shot at WWE Fails to Impress Wrestling Fans

MJF cut a promo for the crowd after the show went off air. Moving away from his heelish character, he praised Tony Khan, who was standing next to him and said, “This sh*t is not ballet. Every time we get in this ring, we are risking our lives. Do you people understand that? We don’t take that lightly, and what I damn should never take lightly is somebody coming in to my company, dropping their trousers and taking a dump. That sh*t ain’t happening anymore because this is the place, and the only reason it’s here is because of Tony f*cking Khan.”

He further said that although he loves WWE, without AEW, the pro wrestling industry is a monopoly.  The Devil Himself mentioned, “Without AEW professional wrestling is a monopoly and do not get me wrong, I love WWE, trust me. I love WWE, however, hear me out … your favorite wrestlers don’t get paid properly and don’t eat properly unless Tony Khan makes that alternative.”

Fans hit back at MJF for his promo

For many fans who saw MJF’s promo, this was a mixed experience. The wrestler had himself talked about jumping ship only a few months ago and has often teased signing with WWE, given his contract situation.

After this promo went online, fans took to social media to share their views and had quite a lot to say to the Poker Chip winner.

Many fans also assumed that this promo meant MJF has signed an extension with AEW.

Furthermore, people also commented on his turnaround on Tony Khan.
