The WWE Universe are still struggling to process what hit them at the fag end of WWE SummerSlam. We were looking to switch our televisions off. It was a regular Fiend-Strowman match that was honestly underwhelming. We had opened our Twitter feeds to call WWE out for a mediocre event. Out of the blue, Roman Reigns made his WWE return and blew the roof off the Amway Center.

If you are still getting over the last line, let me put out a simpler recap of the events. Braun Strowman and The Fiend Bray Wyatt faced off in a matchup that saw them travel to all parts of the Amway Center arena.

After a back and forth matchup that wasn’t yielding any advantage to anyone, Strowman decided to tear off the ring mat with a box cutter. However, this would turn out to be the beginning of his end. Bray connected with a Ura Nage followed by two vicious Sister Abigails on the exposed wood underneath the WWE ring.

Wyatt then pinned ‘The Monster Among Men’ for a huge victory and secured the WWE Universal Championship. However, that WASN’T the biggest surprise of the night.

Before Bray could celebrate his victory, an irate Roman Reigns entered the ring and annihilated him.

A new look and vicious Roman Reigns

Roman Reigns was looking very different than the cookie cutter babyface we are used to. He was jacked and had a mean streak about him.

His T-shirt read – “Wreck everything and leave.” After wrecking the Fiend, he destroyed Braun Strowman with innumerable chair shots.

It looked like Roman was infuriated over the fact that Strowman took his WrestleMania spot against Goldberg. After all, it was supposed to be his night and his crowning moment.

I don’t know about you, but this is the best version of Roman Reigns that I’ve ever seen. It looks like he’s making his return as a heel, or at worst, as a morally ambiguous character. Gone are the days of the righteous Roman who never raised his hand on a downed opponent.

This Roman Reigns is out for business and he wants what is owed to him. For him, the ends matter way more than the means. Needless to say, Friday can’t come any sooner.
