WWE is a big name in the world of professional wrestling. Currently, there is hardly any other professional wrestling company that can claim to be on its level. However, WWE wouldn’t have been as big of a name as it is now, without Vince McMahon.

Vince McMahon has been the driving force behind WWE. He has led the company this far. But even after that, former wrestling manager Jim Cornette thinks otherwise. He believes that it is not safe to let him be the in-charge of WWE again. 

Jim Cornette talked about Vince McMahon’s ‘Magic Touch”

Recently, the former WWE employee Jim Cornette dedicated a large segment of the 288th episode of his podcast ‘Jim Cornette’s Drive Thru’ to Vince McMahon. During the segment, Cornette broke down Endeavor CEO Ari Emanuel’s interview on CNBC. 

While giving the interview, Ari Emanuel mentioned McMahon’s magic touch and how he made WWE grow that massive. To this, Jim Cornette agreed and said that WWE wouldn’t exist if it wasn’t for Vince McMahon. But he even quoted that Vince wasn’t the only one at that time who came up with the idea of pay-per-view.

Breaking down Ari Emanuel’s interview, Cornette said, “Well in some cases the WWE would not exist today if it weren’t for Vince’s magic touch at some points in history.……Well and also if Vince was seeing around that many corners he sounds like a Peeping Tom doesn’t he? I don’t think it’s fair to say that you know nobody else was seeing cable or pay-per-view when Vince did.”

Not only this, but the American author also explained why Vince McMahon is not the right choice to lead WWE now. It is pertinent to note that McMahon returned to WWE earlier this year after his retirement from the company last year. He was reported to have not much say in the creative side of WWE, but the recent episode of RAW garnered severe criticism amid reports of his involvement in the show.

According to Cornette, it is dangerous to let McMahon lead a billion-dollar company

Further in the podcast, Cornette highlighted the major reason for not fully trusting Vince McMahon with WWE now. He explained that even though Vince had a magic touch, and he brought WWE this far, he is almost 80 years old now and it could act as an obstacle for him.

Cornette explained, “I think he [Ari Emanuel] definitely does believe that Vince has the magic touch with this company but I think also he’s got to put the guy over that he’s just put together a deal for that he’s an integral part of it’s you know multi-billions of dollars, he can’t…….He’s got to put Vince over some. But they’ve still got to be realistic that they’re dealing with a guy that’s almost 80 years old.”

Cornette even tried to explain the possible deal that might have happened between Endeavor CEO and Vince McMahon about his role in WWE.

He continued, “If….did Vince give himself a two-year contract instead of a five-year contract. Because they may have said well……‘Vince we are fixed about the thing and you know all due respect but you’re 70 f*cking eight. So how about two years we get to an even number there and then we evaluate’. Maybe there was something like that.”

There is no doubt that WWE wouldn’t be as big as it is now without Vincent Kennedy McMahon. And now that he has passed its control over to another company, it would be interesting to see how they decide Vince McMahon’s role in it, especially amid the growing fan criticism.
