Brock Lesnar’s departure from WWE came as a shock to the entire fanbase. “The Beast Incarnate” is now apparently a free agent, and will not be making that big return. Although, it seems that WWE had a major plan in store for him.

According to the recent reports from Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE was planning a huge return for Lesnar, which would set him up for the much-awaited WrestleMania rematch against Drew McIntyre.

As exciting as this sounds, the return may not have happened this way even if he still was a part of WWE.

The match being booked would imply that Drew McIntyre would still be holding the WWE Championship, come WrestleMania 37. This is most likely not going to happen. Randy Orton is being favored to win the WWE title from McIntyre.

I know what you’re thinking now but no. Randy Orton cannot face Lesnar either, because he has a long-overdue fight against Edge. That match will probably be for the WWE Championship.

In other words, Lesnar was any way out of the scene. WWE may have considered booking him with Drew McIntyre earlier, and that would be a very good idea. However, the path of Randy Orton came in the way, and there was no choice but to set up the feud between McIntyre and Orton.

Brock Lesnar may not actually be a “Free agent”

The WWE Universe was shocked when the news surfaced that Lesnar’s contract had expired. Things got even more real when his official merchandise got taken off the WWE Online shop.

We don’t know what’s next for Lesnar, but we mustn’t look to other promotions just yet.

Lesnar and Vince McMahon have their occasional squabbles, but in the end, they patch up and get back to business. A lot of fans including Chris Jericho believe that Brock Lesnar will go back to Vince McMahon and that it would take an unbelievable amount of money to separate the two.

There’s the other possibility that this is all just a game and Brock Lesnar will indeed make that huge return. This ‘free agent’ gimmick could be a way to get Lesnar off our minds so we won’t see him coming.

Either way, we know WWE still has a lot to offer him should he choose to step in the ring again. I can’t imagine a single fan who wouldn’t want a Brock Lesnar showdown at WrestleMania 37.
