No one would have ever thought that Vince McMahon would host WrestleMania without Undertaker. Unfortunately, that did happen back in WrestleMania 35.

It was the first WrestleMania in 19 years without Taker’s involvement. The latest chapter of Undertaker’s ‘The Last Ride’ revealed much more about how things unfolded.

He did not want to go at first, but his wife Michelle set his mind straight. Taker left for New York but had forgotten to take his gear with him. Vince wanted him with the gear and he had to fly back to Texas to get it.

I didn’t bring my gear. I thought I’d go home and get it and I got on a flight that night, flew home, grabbed my bag; had to find it first. I hadn’t used it in a while, I had no idea where it was.

“All my stuff was washed and packed. So yeah I had a quick trip to Texas and right back to New York,” Undertaker said.

Undertaker’s interaction with Vince McMahon

When Undertaker returned, he had a jovial talk with the Chairman. When Vince argued that a pro would always bring their gear, Taker replied stating a pro would have booked him a match first.

A pro would bring their gear. Always. Rookie move. And it’s always right up here, where I can get my hands on it” Vince McMahon said. Undertaker would reply saying, “That’s good, but a pro would have booked me to start with.”

Undertaker would then tell Vince that he pushed him to the limits. Vince then mocks Taker stating he was a giant Gonzalez before, but now the son has come back.

You pushed the limits yesterday. You could have put that off a week, I’m just saying,” Undertaker said.

“There is a giant Gonzalez from down in- where the hell is he from. It’s his son whose coming back now,” Vince McMahon replied.

Undertaker had a rough night watching others perform on the stage he was most fond of. Taker wanted to be out there, but the plans were different.

Taker said, “It was a rough night, sitting there, watching the show go on. Thinking in my head, that I should be out there.”
