“We were like a boy band. We were going to malls and chicks are going crazy. I’m meeting all these people, and I didn’t know how to talk to people. It was very weird to me. People were like, ‘Oh my God, I love you so much!’ And I’m like, ‘I don’t know you. Thank you.’ I didn’t know to behave in a scenario.”

Moxley earned most of his fame as WWE’s Dean Ambrose. Along with Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns, he held titles, traveled the globe and became one of wrestling’s most beloved entities. He is also a Grand Slam Champion in WWE.

Moxley criticized WWE’s classification of talent as independent contractors

Moxley went on to critique WWE’s policy of classifying wrestlers as independent contractors. “When I was doing my taxes in WWE, because you’re an independent contractor – which is not true – you’re a fu–ing employee. So, you have to pay your taxes.”

In a place like WWE, and in a profession like professional wrestling, your career is always at the risk of ending in an instant. Moxley has always been one of the most reckless and cut-loose wrestlers in the industry. He explained this to a financial advisor and an accountant who he had to hire since his WWE career was picking up.

“I said, ‘Well, I’m finally making some money now. I don’t know when this is going to end. This could end tomorrow, so I just want to save as much as humanly possible.’ So then, in five years, if this all goes to s–t, I’m good.

Jon Moxley is not a spendthrift person

The AEW Champion had a rough childhood in Cincinnati, Ohio, where he grew up poor. Moxley revealed that he still does not like spending money, as he’s afraid he might lose it all very quickly.

As the AEW Champion, Moxley is one of the highest paid wrestlers in the promotion, but his lifestyle has not changed since his days at CZW. WWE and AEW might be paying wrestlers a lot, but the fiscal responsibility in terms of the family has to become a burden for wrestlers at some point in time.
