The contract signing was officiated by WWE Official Adam Pearce. Roman Reigns was the first one to let his mouth run. He tried playing mind games with McIntyre by saying, ” I knew you could do it. Paul, not so much.”

“I’ve been in your shoes,” said Roman. “All these lessons, I’ve already learned. I’m gonna tell you the same thing Paul told me years ago. ‘You are the right guy, at the right place, at the wrong time.”

Drew was wary of Reigns’ attempts at getting inside his head. By reacting aggressively, he would be playing straight into Roman’s game-plan. The WWE Universal Champion is way more cunning and malicious than he seems.

McIntyre got straight to the point. “I won the title for me, not you, but for me.” Drew proceeded to sign the contract and made the match official, but not without delivering some final words. “This Sunday, prepare for war.”

Roman was obviously insulted by McIntyre’s words of advice, to which he fired back by offering McIntyre one last lesson. He then called him a ‘secondary title holder’. “You’re a prop, you’re a stand-in, you’re the guy they send in when I’m busy.”

Roman promised Drew that one day he would make it in this business, and when he does, he would have Roman to thank. “You will always be my favourite number two,” said Reigns, as he signed the contract and sauntered out of the ring.

McIntyre made an appearance on SmackDown last week, prior to his title shot against Randy Orton. He faced Jey Uso in the night’s main event, but it was his confrontation with Roman that had sparks flying.

Drew would go on to beat Randy for the title, setting up the inevitable clash with the Tribal Chief. McIntyre’s clash with Roman would be the most heavily awaited clash of the year. The two are predicted to deliver an instant classic at Survivor Series.

Roman succeeded at getting inside Drew McIntyre’s head, but the Tribal Chief might be underestimating the WWE Champion. However, Reigns himself has been extremely confident after dominating the SmackDown roster. At Survivor Series, both men face their toughest test in the Champion vs Champion match.
