As WWE announced earlier, the winner of the 2021 Royal Rumble and the Hall of Famer, Edge, made his debut on WWE NXT this week (3/2/21). The icon interrupted a segment between Pete Dunne and NXT Champion Finn Balor.

Edge hyped the NXT crowd for a bit and said people often overlook NXT, but the division helped him immensely during his recovery and return. The passion helped him win the Royal Rumble on Sunday, and it granted him an opportunity to face ANY champion in WWE.

After this, he spoke to both Dunne and Balor. He said to Dunne, “I see you and I see so much of me; The good and the bad. But that’s what makes us who we are.”

“I see a guy who is operating on an entirely different level,” Edge told Finn Balor. “You are in a zone that is special to watch. So, I’m going to be watching your match at TakeOver because I’ve never had that,” and he pointed to Balor’s title.

The NXT title is definitely intriguing to Edge.

If I haven’t made my choice by TakeOver, who knows, this fight may cause me to make my choice,” he concluded.

Will Edge actually challenge for the NXT Championship?

As we have reported earlier, Edge is rumored to face the Universal Champion Roman Reigns at WrestleMania. So, why is he suddenly changing his mind?

Last year, we saw how Charlotte Flair, the winner of women’s Royal Rumble 2020, challenged Rhea Ripley for the NXT Women’s title. Moreover, Flair won the title at the ‘Grandest Stage of them all.’

However, that might not be the case this year, as the ‘Rated-R Superstar‘ has already clarified his intentions.

He will win back what he never lost, his WWE World Heavyweight Championship. While the NXT title is definitely prestigious, the harsh truth is that it does not hold the same caliber as the Universal or WWE Championship.
