John Cena has been absent from WWE programming since last year. His only appearance occurred in a brief video where WWE announced the venue and dates of the upcoming WrestleManias.

As Cena has fully ventured into the world of Glitz and Glamour, many fans are arguing whether it’s time to bid the “wrestler” John Cena farewell. The current NXT Champion Karrion Kross recently expressed his wish to “retire” Cena.

A Twitter user recently conceptualized the idea of Kross and Cena going head-to-head. The fan wrote, “Cena needs to exit finally on the highest note possible. Cena never faced an opponent like Kross before and I’m sure the result would be the same as his 2nd NXT title win.”

After the fan gave the idea of Cena vs Kross, the latter replied he would be, “honored… And VERY ready.” However, Kross also noted, “Selfishly, I hope he comes back full time.”

After all was said and done, the news got subdued. John Cena recently shared a picture of Kross on his Instagram account. Keeping in mind Cena shares inexplicable pictures with no captions, this post would mean he has heard Kross’ claims.

Although Cena has no intentions of coming back to wrestling, and Kross is also not moving to the main rosters anytime soon, the match sounds great as a fantasy option.

Over the few years, NXT has produced some of the top talents in WWE, like former WWE Champion Drew McIntyre, current Women’s Champions Bianca Belair, and Rhea Ripley to name a few. To have a quaint talent like Kross in the main roster would be beneficial for WWE.

Kross recently won his second NXT Title from Finn Balor. Kross’ initial NXT reign had to end as he suffered a separated shoulder during the match and retired from the title 4 days later.
