WWE NXT TakeOver 31 was a brutal show. In the main event, we saw NXT Champion Finn Balor defend his title against Kyle O’Reilly. Finn was visibly exhausted by the end, and the ending itself was cut short due to the injuries suffered by both men.

Earlier, Finn Balor shared an X-Ray of his jaw on social media which showed that his jaw was broken in two places. He claimed that he suffered the injury during the match and still emerged as the champion.

After Balor shared his report, WWE Legend and NXT’s founder and executive producer, Triple H, shared his response. He was the first one to report that Balor was taken to a hospital.

Previously, WWE announced that Balor was receiving CAT scans at the hospital to check for potential facial fractures. It was also announced that O’Reilly suffered several broken teeth and was being evaluated for further injuries. Now, it looks like both competitors are recovering from the impactful main event.

Finn Balor can’t seem to escape injuries. He previously had to forfeit the Universal championship due to a separated shoulder. A broken jaw points to a month or two before Finn can properly join in on the action without risking his face.

NXT’s last champion, Karrion Kross, vacated the belt due to a separated shoulder just days after winning it. Triple H & team will probably work upon an angle where they don’t have to vacate the title again.

Finn’s neither a heel nor a face on the black and gold brand. Hence, this allows for some creative freedom and inclusion of new angles. WWE can bring back Karrion Kross and build him up against Balor.

There are no further injury reports on O’Reilly as of now. WWE will hopefully release an update on both stars.
