WWE finally opened the forbidden door as the new year 2023 kick-started. Triple H gave Shinsuke Nakamura the permission to start his 2023 by wrestling in his hometown. Nakamura was set to face The Great Muta at Pro Wrestling NAOH.

The match was one of the best for the 42-year-old WWE superstar in the past few months since moving to the main roster in Vince McMahon’s company. He pulled a reversal that can be called as a smart move.

The match between Nakamura and Muta had an unusual ending. It doesn’t include a major finishing move by the ‘King of Strong Styles’ but he pulled Muta’s popular trick against him to end the match.

Nakamura cunningly extracted the poison mist out of The Great Muta’s mouth. Moreover, the former US Champion sprayed the mist on the Japanese legend to win the match.

This was indeed an innovative move by the ‘King of Strong Styles’. He went back to his hometown and won the match at his turf, defeating a Japanese wrestling legend.

Moreover, the main roster beginning was amazing as he won the 2018 Royal Rumble. He was in the WWE Championship pursuit for some time, but was unsuccessful. Until now, he has won the US Title and Intercontinental Title twice, also having a reign with SmackDown Tag Team Title with Cesaro.
