Stephanie McMahon Announces Huge News on WWE RAW

One of the biggest controversies from Extreme Rules which revolved around the Raw Women’s Championship was resolved this week by Stephanie McMahon. After a very well fought match between Sasha Banks and Asuka, the ending would leave a sour taste in the mouth of the fans.

As the referee got knocked out, Bayley found a chance to interfere. However, instead of waiting for a new referee to show up, Bayley donned the referee gear herself, giving the victory and the Championship to her friend Banks.

However, it was soon clarified that Banks is not the champion and the little trick pulled off by the “Golden role models” would not work.

This week on Raw, Stephanie McMahon made a surprise appearance via video on the big screen to finally clear the air and announce a big match.

Stephanie McMahon revealed that the Raw Women’s Championship will in fact be defended on next week’s Monday Night Raw.

However, this time, she will make sure that no amount of outside interferences can make a difference to the result of the match.

Thus, the belt will change hands even if the victory is achieved through a countout, disqualification or any kind of outside interference.

Before Stephanie appeared, Sasha and Bayley had come out to boast about the victory. Banks even claimed that she deserves to be champion as Asuka was handed the championship by Becky Lynch.

Whatever be the case, we are surely getting a jam-packed Monday Night Raw next week. Not only is the Raw Women’s Championship on the line, the WWE Championship will also be defended by Drew McIntyre.

Needless to say, WWE is pulling out all the stops to bring the ratings back up, by giving away big title matches on weekly episodic television.

We can’t say that it’s a bad decision as the situation demands desperate actions. The absence of live crowds makes weekly shows less engaging, necessitating the need for these eye-catching matches.

It’ll be interesting to see if any huge title change takes place.
