WWE Summerslam just got a lot more exciting. On the latest episode of Raw, we got a confirmation of the main even for the big four show.

As we had predicted yesterday in our report,  Randy Orton challenged Drew McIntyre for his WWE Championship on tonight’s edition of Monday Night Raw.

The Viper kicked off Monday Night Raw to reveal his next move after annhilating The Big Show. In case you’ve been living under a rock, Randy Orton has turned into the most vicious heel on the WWE roster.

He’s back to his Legend killer persona from the 2000’s, kicking people’s heads of their skulls and RKO’ing their wives. Needless to say, Orton thrives in this environment.

Coming back to tonight’s Raw, Orton reflected on the reign of terror that had unleashed on Raw. His victims include the returning Edge, the medically unfit to compete Christian and an ageing Big Show. Obviously, Randy Orton has little to no regard of the respect or the health condition of his opponent.

Orton went on to berate legends like The Rock and Stone Cold Steve Austin. As per him, even as the aforementioned legends burned out, Orton continued to perform consistently in the WWE.

As there are no more legends left to kill, Orton decided that there’s only one way left for him to go; after the WWE Champion Drew McIntyre. After claiming that he had a lot of respect for the Scottish Psychopath, the Viper challenged him to a SummerSlam showdown.

Did Drew McIntyre accept Orton’s SummerSlam challenge?

Time and again, Drew McIntyre has proven that he is a fighting champion. There was no way that he would back out of Randy Orton’s challenge.

A confident McIntyre accepted Orton’s challenge right before his match with Dolph Ziggler begun. With a supremely passionate promo, Drew McIntyre reminded us once again why he is the face of the company.

He said that he wished Orton treated him like an underdog. The last person to do that was Brock Lesnar and he got his a** kicked by Drew McIntyre in under five minutes at WrestleMania.

Drew went on to retain his title against Ziggler after a hard fought match-up. With that, the big WWE Championship match is all but confirmed for SummerSlam.

It’s surely an exciting prospect considering that both these Superstars are on fire. Booking a winner can be tricky for WWE in this situation. Neither of the Superstars can take a loss without severely damaging their momentum.

Recent rumors point towards a WrestleMania rematch between Edge and Orton. WWE might want to increase the stakes of that match by keeping the WWE Championship as the prize.

That drastically increases Orton’s chances of walking away with the strap. On the contrary, Edge might interfere at SummerSlam in some way to cost Orton the title.

There are more questions than answers and in sports entertainment, that’s  always a good thing.
