Ahead of the match between Lacey Evans and Xia Li, they both interviewed the women backstage. Evans was positive about picking up the victory and entering the Women’s Money In The Bank Ladder Match. However, Li had some bitter words for the US Marine Veteran.

She said, “Lacey Evans is not a winner. Lacey Evans is a whiner. I will make her cry tears of shame when I go become miss Money In The Bank.”

Xia Li dominated the short match in the first half. However, Evans quickly took control of the match once she freed herself from the headlock. ‘The Martial Artist’ was pretty confident about picking up the victory tonight but came short when Lacey Evans connected her with Women’s Right and pinned her to confirm her spot for the ladder match.

With this victory, Lacey Evans became the first qualifier to enter this year’s ladder match for the Money In The Bank briefcase. On this week’s SmackDown Evans wrestled a match in WWE after a year, since she had taken a hiatus because she was pregnant.

When Lacey Evans won her qualifying match, she became the first women participant for this year’s Womens’ Money In The Bank ladder match. However, when WWE showed the spots on the TV screen, there were seven spots instead of eight in the ladder match.

Only the inaugural 2017 Money In the Bank and 2020 match had five and six participants, respectively. For the rest of the three years ladder match, there were four women from each brand who qualified for the match for the briefcase.
