Ahead of the title defense on Friday, WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns had some strong words for Braun Strowman. The match was made official last week and is being promoted as the “official rematch” after Strowman’s title loss at SummerSlam.

However, the Tribal Chief does not think the Monster among Men deserves to step in the same ring as him. In his latest interview with ESPN First Take, Roman Reigns said he had nothing to prove, but he will be there to beat Strowman again.

“To be honest, I don’t think Braun Strowman deserves the opportunity,” Reigns said. “I beat him, I pinned him, I took the Universal championship. But because the competitor I am, the top guy that I am, the face of the company, I’m gonna hold my obligation…I’m going to show up on Friday, and I’m going to whoop his a**.”

He further reiterated his superiority as he posted, “There are levels to being in the position I am and why I am who I am!!!”

He also said in the same interview how every day is a “workday” for him. He is above everyone else as he has been tenured for so long and has worked on a “different level.”

“I want him (Uso) to be there on Friday. I want him to take notes, I want him to see what it takes to operate at such a high level. To be able to take on all comers, any day and anytime, it doesn’t matter. You have to defend the title when you have to defend it. Friday, I’m gonna show him what’s gonna happen at Hell in a Cell.”

Braun Strowman lost the title to the Fiend at SummerSlam 2020. However, they were both attacked by a returning Roman Reigns, who eventually picked up the title at next week’s Payback.

He successfully defended the title against his cousin Jey Uso at Clash of Champions. The duo will now take on each other at the upcoming Hell in a Cell in an “I Quit” match with the “highest stakes.”

Roman Reigns made it obvious he is retaining the title on Friday, and the ultimate showdown will be at the upcoming PPV. Bray Wyatt got drafted to Raw recently, which means that he is completely out of the Universal Championship picture.
