The Intercontinental Champion Sami Zayn is enjoying his best year so far. When he first turned heel, his real-life friend Kevin Owens helped him through the transition. However, Zayn wanted someone else by his side.

When he started his “Great Liberator” gimmick, he wanted none other than Liv Morgan. Speaking out on Liv Morgan’s latest documentary, Zayn shared a Twitter video where Morgan accidentally sneezes on him backstage.

Zayn revealed the reason Morgan never got to be a part of the gimmick, “but she got drafted to RAW.” Hence, Zayn started the now-popular gimmick alone.

At that time, Liv Morgan and Ruby Riott were fighting with each other. However, now they have reunited again as “Riott Squad.” Zayn hopes to see Morgan as the next women’s champion, “There is SO much to her. Can’t wait to see her one day become Women’s Champ.”

SmackDown’s Intercontinental Champion, Sami Zayn, had an intense rivalry with AJ Styles and Jeff Hardy over the title. After he won it in a triple threat match, Styles and Hardy both got drafted to RAW.

Now Zayn is more or less calling out WWE for trying to “sabotage” him. Although he has been criticized for keeping the title with the help of “count-out and disqualification,” Zayn is a delight to watch on TV.

After his latest match and social media interaction, the returning Daniel Bryan seems like a good opponent as both of them need a programme going forward. As for Liv Morgan, she’s also on SmackDown as the Riott Squad got drafted to SmackDown in the WWE Draft.

Do you think Liv Morgan will join Sami Zayn into the gimmick now that they are on the same brand? Let us know in the comments below.
