The current WWE Universal Championship storyline is the most interesting on the WWE main roster. The Champion, Roman Reigns, is feuding with his cousin Jey Uso. The latter even got a “rematch” at Hell in a Cell after the last PPV loss. However, there is another rematch that is still pending. Unfortunately, it seems like it would be pending for a while.

WWE seems to have forgotten about Bray Wyatt‘s one-week title reign. Reigns defeated Strowman to win Fiend’s title in a triple threat match at Payback. Even after the title’s loss, Wyatt mentioned how “The Fiend” was not happy to lose his “toy” again. In the firefly funhouse episode, Wyatt introduced a new character called the “wobbly walrus,” resembling Paul Heyman.

However, as the week progressed, the storyline between Reigns and Wyatt hit a dead end. Reigns and Wyatt both got busy with their own set of feuds. Like we said before, Reigns is feuding with Jey Uso over the position of the “Tribal Chief” or “the head of the table.”

On the other hand, Wyatt is most probably getting involved in a feud with Raw’s Kevin Owens. The feud started when The Fiend attacked Kevin Owens this past SmackDown with Alexa Bliss.

New and improved storylines for Roman Reigns and Bray Wyatt?

Roman Reigns came back after six months and immediately won the Universal title. According to WrestleTalk, WWE has booked him and tapped into the vast popularity of the Anao’I Family. There have been fantasy bookings about the Rock vs. Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 37 next year.

If this is true, WWE is definitely planning for some long-term storytelling and Wyatt is nowhere to be found. The character of the ominous Fiend does not fit well with the wrestling royalty Anoa’i Family.

Wyatt, on the other hand, is probably coming to Raw next week. He seems to be out for Kevin Owens. As Kevin Owens noted earlier on Raw, “the dark forces are against him.” There have been speculations of a new Wyatt Family-Esque stable with Bray Wyatt, Alexa Bliss, and Owens’ current rival Aleister Black.

The duo of Roman and Fiend will definitely fight in the future. As Wyatt has asserted on many occasions, The Fiend does not forget. However, as of now, the Reigns-Fiend storyline seems to be postponed.
