Randy Orton and Drew McIntyre Engage in an Extreme Match for the WWE Championship

After weeks of waiting, sneak attacks and warnings, it was time for Randy Orton vs Drew McIntyre in the co-main event of SummerSlam. The prediction Shawn Micheals sent in was Randy Orton getting Claymored.
Orton almost hit an RKO in the opening moments of the match but McIntyre slid out of the ring. The two Superstars would then fight ringside and Orton would suplex McIntyre off the announcer’s table.
As the match went on, the fight became more intense and brutal. It was clearly evident that McIntyre had revenge on his mind. McIntyre even paid tribute to Ric Flair by locking in the figure four. From there on, things got ugly between the two Superstars.

As McIntyre would lock Orton in the figure four, The Viper would use a thumb to the eye. This is what cut Drew McIntyre open and he would start bleeding.
A few moments later, it was Orton’s turn to be on the recieving end. McIntyre connected with the Future Shock DDT and covered the Viper. However, Orton kicked out.
When the camera went for a close up on Orton, he didn’t look in good shape. The Legend Killer was busted open too.
As brilliant the match was, the ending was equally bizzare and not upto the mark. McIntyre was measuring Orton for the Claymore but The Viper moved out of the way. McIntyre then performed a backslide and the pin to retain the title.
The road ahead for Randy Orton and Drew McIntyre
With Payback just seven days away, Randy Orton vs Drew McIntyre is certainly not a one off thing. The absurd finish itself shows there is one more match left in the tank of this feud.
