WATCH: When Brock Lesnar Shocked the World With a Controversial Finish
Many may remember the iconic matches that WWE has had over the years. You have The Undertaker vs Shawn Michaels, John Cena vs The Rock, and Hulk Hogan vs Andre the Giant. But only a handful recall the chilling encounter between Randy Orton and Brock Lesnar.
One learns to expect high-scale destruction and carnage whenever “The Beast Incarnate” steps into the ring. In the build-up to this match, Lesnar had vanquished every Superstar that crossed his path.
The last man standing- Randy Orton. The feud was inevitable. Consequently, the two were set to fight at SummerSlam in a highly anticipated match.

The two began tackling each other during the initial stages of the match. By his moves, it was clear that Lesnar was trying to finish Orton off quickly, to make a statement.
Orton was taken to Suplex City. Brock Lesnar delivered a barrage of German Suplexes to Orton and wore him out. Orton attempted to break this chain, but he was hit with yet another suplex every time he erred.
Brock Lesnar wanted to break Randy Orton
Seeing that Orton was struggling, Lesnar could easily have delivered an F5 and finished him off. However, he wanted to wreck Randy.
Taking Orton to the commentary table, Lesnar attempted to drive him through it. Even Michael Cole felt that Lesnar was trying to end Orton’s career.

As soon as Lesnar did all the hard work and brought Orton to his feet on top of the commentary table, “The Viper” caught him off guard with an RKO out of nowhere!
With a sinister smile on his face, Orton knew that he had got the better of Lesnar. Soon after the match was taken back inside the ring, Lesnar hit an F5 on Randy, but he kicked out.
Frustrated, Lesnar got Orton down and started pounding away at him, with several vicious elbows to Orton’s head.
Lesnar didn’t stop the assault on Orton
It was clear that he was aiming at much more than just winning the match. A bleeding Orton was then assisted by the medical staff, while the referee put the match on hold.
However, Lesnar came back four times to continue pounding away at Orton mercilessly. The official ended the match which went down as a victory for Lesnar by Knockout. Disgusted, Shane McMahon came out to the ring to stop this brutal assault.
A fired-up Lesnar then delivered an F5 to him as well! Paul Heyman did not approve of this and begged Lesnar to stop these hostilities.
The situation had then calmed down following Lesnar’s departure. This is when the cameras stopped rolling.

However, the viewers in the stadium got to see what those watching on TV couldn’t. Orton found his feet and smiled at the camera!
Yes, that’s right! After getting the soul beaten out of him, “The Viper” stood up and smiled at the camera.
The entire event was supposed to mark the beginning of a feud between Shane McMahon and Lesnar, but that plan didn’t materialize.

We aren’t sure whether Lesnar actually lost it and pounded it out on Orton or if it was all part of the act. That match at SummerSlam 2016 still remains one of the most brutal affairs in WWE history.
