Watch: The Most Embarrassing Defeat of Brock Lesnar in WWE

Brock Lesnar is one of the best performers at Survivor Series. The Beast Incarnate has picked up some iconic wins at the PPV, against the likes of AJ Styles, Daniel Bryan and Rey Mysterio. Lesnar rarely loses on PPV and that too in less than two minutes. In 2016, Brock Lesnar went up against one of his fiercest former rivals. He was not only beaten, but humiliated.

Brock Lesnar and Goldberg have an unsavory past in WWE

Goldberg and Brock Lesnar had previously faced each other in 2004. Their match at WrestleMania XX would have been one of the best in the events history. However, prior to the match, news that both men were on their way out of the company was leaked. This angered fans who completely ruined their high profile clash. Both men were soundly booed, and even Stone Cold Steve Austin could not rescue the match.

Goldberg beat Brock at WrestleMania XX in what would be both men’s final match in the company. Lesnar returned in 2012, the night after WrestleMania 28 and delivered an F5 to John Cena. Lesnar signed for the company and has been billed as their biggest star. His advocate, Paul Heyman credits WWE’s box office success to Brock Lesnar and he was proved correct.

In 2016, Brock was going through one of his worst years since returning to WWE. He failed to win the Royal Rumbleand  was unable to win the WWE Championship. His match against Dean Ambrose at WrestleMania 32 failed to live up to expectations. Lesnar had chance to redeem himself at SummerSlam against Randy Orton, but their dream match was ruined by a weird TKO finish.

Lesnar and Heyman issued the challenge

Brock needed a true star-making performance to rescue his year, but he had no idea what he was in for.  Goldberg was announced as the pre-order bonus character accompanied by the debut trailer featuring Goldberg for WWE 2K17. Brock and Paul Heyman took offence to this, since Lesnar was the cover star. He challenged Goldberg to a match at Survivor Series, which the former WCW Champion accepted.

Fans were expecting an explosive battle between two of the most impactful wrestlers to step foot inside the ring. What unfolded before their eyes will go down in history as one of the most shocking moments in pro wrestling history.

Goldberg delivered two spears and flattened Brock Lesnar with a devastating Jackhammer to pin the Beast in less than two minutes. Goldberg celebrated in the ring with his son as everyone in the Air Canada Centre picked their jaws off the floor.

The match will go down in history as one of the most shocking upsets, and Goldberg becomes the only man to squash Brock Lesnar. The idea of Brock losing in a squash match was something that fans took a while to process. Lesnar has broken the Undertaker’s Streak. He victimized John Cena to win the WWE Championship, and in the process established himself as the most dominant force in wrestling.

Brock would have to wait till WrestleMania 33 to redeem himself, when he beat Goldberg for the WWE Universal Championship. He has once again ascended to the post of the most dominant superstar in WWE. In spite of this, we will always celebrate the beautiful destruction of Brock Lesnar at Survivor Series, at the hands of Bill Goldberg.
