Booker T has given his views on whether he feels UFC legend Conor McGregor is as big as Hulk Hogan. McGregor is one of the biggest names in UFC and in the sport of MMA.

Since the rise of MMA and UFC in particular, there have always been comparisons with WWE. Fans of both sports love to make their fantasy matches with a UFC fighter facing a WWE superstar.

The ‘Notorious one’ is the most marketable superstar of all time due to his brash attitude. As for Hulk Hogan, many experts say pro-wrestling would not be as big as it is today if not for him.

Here is what WWE Hall of Famer Booker T had to say about this comparison on the Hall of Fame podcast –

“You know I don’t agree with that man. I don’t know I can be wrong, I do know the company UFC really pushed Conor McGregor like they didn’t push any other fighter that I have seen throughout the years of me watching that sport. There again, Conor McGregor is good, he is very talented. I am not saying that a lot of people don’t know Conor McGregor but UFC is such a big sport, a lot of people have got their favorite. It is hard for me to give Conor McGregor that prop. Hogan wrestled everybody, Hogan put everybody else on the map as well. It is hard for me to put them together.”

Booker T feels it is time for Conor McGregor to retire now

Conor McGregor has announced retirement on various occasions in the past. However, he eventually returned to the octagon after all his announcements. Regardless, Booker T feels that it is time McGregor should call it a day on his MMA career.

The WWE Hall of Famer feels McGregor’s skill level will not get any higher from here on.

“The thing is Conor McGregor should retire now before it really starts getting ugly for him because a fighter like him is not going to go any level higher at 31 years old. I don’t think his skill level will get higher as well. At 31 years old, Conor McGregor’s days are well best behind him. He made a lot of money due to UFC getting behind him and backing him, putting him on the map. The most money he made was outside of the UFC it had nothing to do with the UFC. I can’t say he is the Hogan of MMA.”
