“Couldn’t Have Asked for Anything Better” – The Undertaker Sheds Light on His Historic UFC 121 Interaction With Brock Lesnar

The Undertaker is an icon of The WWE. The larger-than-life character spent 30  years in the company. Towards the last decade of his career, The Deadman really wanted a fight with another icon of WWE: The Beast Incarnate, Brock Lesnar. But, at the time, Lesnar was preoccupied with the UFC.

Luckily, Ariel Helwani captured a once-in-a-lifetime moment between the two icons of the entertainment industry, at UFC 121. Recently, Callaway sat down with the MMA journalist to recall his violent intentions, when he approached The Conqueror at that moment.

The Undertaker really wanted to take on Brock Lesnar

In a segment of BT sports interview with The Undertaker, The former WWE champion spoke about his appearance at UFC 121. When Lesnar faced Cain Velasquez on October 23, 2010, at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California, United States. The Undertaker was waiting to sneak a word with Lesnar, as he walked out of the octagon, with his head held low.

However, Lesnar was not in a chatty mood, after being defeated by his opponent. Fortunately, Helwani was present to cover that tense moment between the two superstars. The Undertaker famously replied, ‘It’s personal’ when Helwani asked him if things were okay between him and Lesnar.

Recalling that incident, The Undertaker said “I went there to pick a fight, and then you (Ariel Helwani) wanted to talk to me a little bit, and it all kind of went down right there in front of you.

The Deadman got what he came for during this interaction

The Phenom added “Everything worked perfectly that night, and you wanted to grab a couple of words from me, I couldn’t have asked for anything better than that. Yeah, that was a really fun night. Probably not so much for Brock.”

Therefore, Callaway felt really grateful that the MMA journalist was present to capture and ask him about the heated interaction which was also the only interview they had until now making the moment that much more special! Therefore, The Deadman felt that spontaneous, off-the-books interaction really caught on with his fans and the wrestling community.

The Undertaker would get his wish of wrestling Lesnar again, having faced The Beast during the mid-2000s. Lesnar of course famously ended Taker’s streak, and the two feuded in the following year having a couple of more memorable matches.
