WWE legend, The Undertaker, in a recent interview with ESPN, opened up about his infamous UFC 121 confrontation with Brock Lesnar after the Beast lost his match and championship to Cain Valesquez. In the interview, he explains the backstory that led to the fight.

“I was sent there personally to pick a fight, and I was unaware that Dana [White] had no clue what was happening, which I felt horrible about after the fact. I thought there had been some kind of discussion between him and Vince [McMahon].”

He was sent there to give Brock some incentive to come back to wrestling. Despite how it looked to everyone at the time, Taker did not have a personal grudge. The fact that Brock did not know about it and wasn’t in on the act made the incident awkward.

Both of these men would meet again in the future. The Undertaker would come back to take revenge against the Beast at Battlegrounds, 2015, costing Lesnar a title match win.

The reason for the feud was Brock’s attitude after beating Taker and him bragging about the fact every week. This led to a match in SummerSlam 2015. The match was well on its way to being the best match they have had until the finish. Taker had tapped out, but the referee did not see it. Due to this, Taker would later win by using the Hell’s Gate submission. The Beast would not tap, but just pass out.
