One of the craziest entrances in UFC history, this event was a treat for WWE and anime fans alike. Hinting at his undefeated streak, Israel Adesanya chose to walk down the arena wearing the hat and carrying the urn, just like the Undertaker.

Most fans will remember the purple smoke of The Undertaker, as it is synonymous with him in pop culture. But it could also be a reference to the purple smoke that envelops Madara Uchiha in his Susano’o form. Adesanya took references from a lot of things. And we will dive deep into them in this article.

Israel Adesanya explaining his entrance

When asked about his entrance, Adesanya replied, “Shoutout to the UFC production team because they were really accommodating and just helpful to make it a show. This is the UFC you want to give them a show, you know what I mean? And I said all week, this week feels like WrestleMania. Who’s undefeated at WrestleMania? The Undertaker and I’ve been feeling dark all week. So, you saw the hints of Death Note, the speech from Madara in the beginning and then you saw the scream at the end in a split face with me and Madara. The purple, fu** it just makes sense, all that.”

When asked if he knew about Vince McMahon coming, he said, “I found out this morning, but it wasn’t a thing I planned. Like I said, the universe just provides, and it’s weird synergy where crossover. But I like it cause I grew up on that s**t.”

When asked if he talked to them, he replied, “No, I didn’t talk to them but it’s cool. I mean, I’m a big fan of Triple H. He just retired or became a Hall of Famer, which is cool. He’s a legend of the game. It’s cool to see guys like that. I hope they enjoyed the show.”

Geeky references in Isreal Adesanya’s entrance at UFC 276

For WWE fans and the public, the urn and the hat were identical to The Undertaker’s, but why would Adesanya project him of all wrestlers? As he stated in the interview, UFC feels like a big event for MMA fans. So much so that it is akin to WrestleMania, the show of shows. And many hold The Undertaker’s impressive 21-0 streak as one of the greatest streaks in wrestling.

So, certifying his victory and announcing it to the world, Adesanya wore ‘The Deadman’s attire. But why Madara Uchiha from Naruto? The speech that he chose, which is known as Madara’s speech, is the best thing to come out of Naruto. If you don’t know, Naruto is an anime series that is one of the biggest shows in the entire world.
