Gable Steveson suffered from Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome
After appearing at WrestleMania 38, WWE drafted Steveson to RAW with his debut expected shortly afterwards. However, WWE didn’t feature him on the main roster at all.
According to an ESPN report, Steveson suffered from the Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome and had to undergo surgery for its treatment. WPW is a rare condition present at birth, in which an extra electrical pathway causes a rapid heartbeat. The Mayo Clinic notes that while the condition can lead to fatalities in children and young adults, it’s more treatable for adults, but it can cause “serious heart problems”.

The 22-year-old underwent an ablation for treatment of his condition. The procedure uses burning or freezing to cause scarring on the inside of the heart. This helps to break up the electrical signals and maintain a normal heart rhythm.
Now that the procedure is complete and Steveson has recovered, he has begun training at the Performance Center. He can now look forward to kick starting his WWE career after an unfortunate delay. He said he is excited to get his journey started and is looking forward to taking over the top spot.
