The former boyfriend of Simone Biles, the four-time Olympic Gold medalist, reveals details about his entry into WWE. The former NFL player quit wrestling while he was still with the development brand NXT.

In a promo with Stacey Ervin Jr. during his training sessions in WWE Performance Center, he revealed, “I was doing some acrobatic things and posting them on my Instagram. Someone had commented saying, ‘hey have you ever thought about doing WWE’… So my girlfriend is Simone Biles.

“Ironically enough, my girlfriend ended up in New York City and Triple H was at a benefit, speaking and she knew that I was interested, so she’s like, I gotta talk to this guy… So she calls him over and she’s talking to him and she’s like, hey, my boyfriend’s interested in doing WWE, is there any way you could get connected…

While Simone Biles may have connected the two men and got Stacey the chance to become a WWE superstar, he preemptively quit after some house shows, and his first and only televised match.

Citing the reason for quitting wrestling to pursue his genuine passion, Stacey has started a new YouTube channel over the past year. The channel is a combination of a fitness motivator and mental health relaxation.

With a little less than 5,000 subscribers, Stacey posts regular vlogs and workout sessions on his channel. Most notably, the WWE superstar and former Intercontinental Champion, Ricochet, and Impact Wrestling superstar, Moose, made an appearance in one of his videos.
