“The Nature Boy” Ric Flair, a legend in pro wrestling, was involved in some of the best moments in wrestling history in his career. He took kayfabe seriously, which made him the greatest of the great.

Flair wrestled with NWA, WCW, TNA, but his two greatest moments came in WWE- The 1992 Royal Rumble (his first WWF championship win) and WrestleMania 24 (his retirement match).

On Wooooo Nation Uncensored show with Mark Madden, Ric Flair spoke about how he felt that in WWE there was no animosity about him being a better performer than somebody else. Madden attributed it to jealousy and WCW, the company where Flair made his name, requiring him to take a backseat. He also claimed that WWE gave Ric Flair his due.

Flair said, “I owe Vince McMahon. I will for the rest of my life.”  

McMahon didn’t force ‘The Nature Boy’ to become anything else. Hence, Ric Flair retained his character until his swansong against Shawn Michaels. The WrestleMania 24 match had all the elements to give the legend a worthy goodbye from wrestling.

Ric Flair says Jake Roberts is great

Every participant in the 1992 Royal Rumble was coming directly to get Ric Flair (the third entrant) when they entered. Everyone knew if they had a significant moment with Flair, they would propel their career to the next level.

However, Jake Roberts did not go for ‘The Nature Boy’. Instead, when Flair and Roddy Piper fought, ‘The Snake’ just stood and watched them. Ric Flair said, “Jake’s smart.” He also added, “Jake Roberts is a great worker. Not good, great.”

The 1992 Royal Rumble was a classic event that introduced Ric Flair to the WWE fans. The future Hall of Famer spent 60 minutes in the match and won it, making every other wrestler look great.
