Nepotism or Not? The Rock’s Cousin Nia Jax Finally Reveals How She Got Into WWE

“The Irresistible Force” Nia Jax aka Lina Fanene is popular in the pro-wrestling universe for her time in WWE. She was with WWE for almost seven years, in which she won the RAW Women’s Championship once at WrestleMania 34 and the Women’s Tag Team Championship twice.
Jax received a lot of praise when she won her first title at WrestleMania 34. However, in 2018, in a RAW invading SmackDown segment, she punched Becky Lynch hard, which broke her nose. After this incident, she turned heel but was badly criticized. In November 2021, they released Nia Jax from her contract.

Nia Jax is half Samoan and is the cousin of Dwayne The Rock Johnson. Recently, Nia appeared on ‘The Sessions’ with Renee Paquette. Renee asked her how Nia’s family bloodline affected her backstage in WWE?

Nia replied, “I mean, she is not gonna lose her job because she is related to The Rock and all this stuff. Everybody under that was signed gripping me to shreds about that and it’s funny because it is so far from the truth, like Vince didn’t had an issue. He knew it was like sh*t happens, we are gonna make the best of it.”
She further added, “And whatever family members they thought supported me were opposite did not have my back. Trust me, I did not had any support with me in this business for a long time.”
Jax revealed, she made all of her WWE career by herself. It took her long time for all the support she has now from her family. However, she was released from her contract in November 2021, as a part of budget cuts.
What is Nia Jax up to these days?
Nia Jax took some time off from WWE in September 2021 and got released in November 2021. She wanted some time to take care of her mental health. After her release, Nia tweeted about her new name if she wrestles again.

Her new name is Lina Fanene, which is the real name she claimed. In the tweet, she also mentioned about her wrestling again is unlikely doubtful as of now.
