With PS5 being launched, Microsoft had to step up. The console giants have been at war for ages. This time around, both Sony and Microsoft have come up with truly competitive products. The Xbox Series X is introducing a new feature to draw more people to choose their console.

Microsoft is bringing in new technology to its Xbox called ‘Smart Delivery’. This new feature will ensure that users will play the best version of games across generations.

When users buy a game for their present console, for instance, they buy a game for the Xbox One. Later on, if they upgrade to the Xbox Series X, they do not need to get another copy of the game. Microsoft will ensure that you get the new game at no cost whenever it becomes available. Users need not even choose the version to download as your Xbox will do that for you.

Even more importantly, if you still use physical discs, that won’t be a problem. The Smart Delivery feature is not limited to games that are purchased digitally. Physical discs will be supported if the publisher decides to implement the feature. The feature will only install the best version of the game so that users won’t lose much of their hard drive space.

Smart Delivery brings in much more. Players can continue where they left off from their older consoles and even download a game they got through game pass to the new console. If you buy a compatible game today, you still get the best version of the same game when you upgrade. These simple add-ons are a true treat for gamers.

Xbox Series X supports backward compatibility as well. Together with this new feature, Microsoft is putting Sony in a tough spot.
