Zlatan Ibrahimovic Agrees to a Deal with AC Milan: Reports

After the contract with Major League Soccer (MLS) team LA Galalxy expired, Zlatan Ibrahimovic became a free agent when the club ended their run in the season earlier this year.

Although Ibrahimovic is 38, there has been a significant interest in the Swedish striker from a few of the top clubs across Europe since he hit free agency.

Manchester United, a club where Zlatan played before going to the United States, seemed to be the prime destination for him.

However, English outlet Telegraph have now reported that the Ibrahimovic has agreed a deal with AC Milan- another of Zlatan’s former clubs- that will see him reject a return to the Premier League.

Ibrahimovic has been a free agent after two seasons with LA Galaxy in America’s MLS.

The reports also suggested that the deal at the San Siro has been agreed in principle and he will get until at least the end of the season to help boost Milan’s chances of climbing the Serie A table.

After reading that news, Swedish outlet SportExpressen reached out to Ibrahimovic’s agent Mino Raiola, but couldn’t extract anything of meaning out of him.

“Don’t you know me at all? I have no comment,” Raiola was quoted as saying.

This report however, certainly falls into context, with AC Milan desperately needing a striker and Ibrahimovic also looking for a European club to play for. Zlatan previously played for AC Milan for two season- the 2010-11 season on loan from Barcelona and 2011-21 season as a permanent member.

During his time there, Zlatan scored 56 goals in 81 appearances. He has never been short of goals and even in his last season in MLS, he scored 31 goals in31 appearances for LA Gakaxy.

Throughout his much decorated career, the former PSG striker has scored 474 goals in 788 appearances, and it will be interesting to see him perform at the top level at the age of 37.
