Woods made arguably one of the greatest comebacks in the history of sports at the Masters. Moreover, the 82-time PGA Tour winner was plying his first event since the 2020 Masters in November. Tiger was out from golf for nearly nine months due to severe injuries to his right leg because of a near-fatal car accident in February 2021.
Not to forget, in his interview with Sky Sports after the final round on Sunday, Woods spoke about playing at the Open Championship. He said, “But I am looking forward to St. Andrews. It’s my favorite golf course in the world, so I will be there for that one.”
He wrote, “Tiger has been a great friend and avid supporter of the Pro-Am for a very long time, and we are absolutely thrilled he has committed to play once again in the tournament.” Other big names who are going to play at the two-day event are Rory McIlroy, John Rahm, Collin Morikawa, and others.
Tiger made a solid finish to his Masters campaign at Augusta. Moreover, the former World Number One ended the event with an overall score of 13-over-par. In turn, Woods finished the event in solo 47th position.
