Millionaire Philanthropist Stephen Curry’s Innocent Act Finds Support From Fans as Inflammatory Video Claims Unbecoming Ignorance

Stephen Curry loves playing against Houston. He’s eliminated them multiple times on the way to his 4 rings, and in general, been a thorn in the franchise’s side. The game on the 30th of October was no different. At his scintillating best, Curry led the Warriors to a comfortable win, but it was a video of his post-game conduct that captured attention online and caused fans to rush to his defense.

But what was the video? And why did the fans need to come to his defense?

Curry’s chaotic night

Steph Curry had himself a game against the Houston Rockets. He notched 24 points, 7 rebounds, and 6 assists as the Warriors walked away the winners 106-95. During his post-match celebration, he unfortunately seemed to ignore an 8-year-old child who asked for his autograph. The child’s parents then posted the video to social media, seemingly in an attempt to vilify the 4x champ. The video claimed that Curry ruins fans’ days, as he refuses to meet, interact, or even autograph merchandise for them.

With the video trying to paint Curry as a glib person who doesn’t like interacting with fans, Twitter (X) users jumped in and called out the parents on certain inaccuracies in their claim.

Taking into mind that Curry is the founder of ‘Eat. Learn. Play,’ and that the basketball player once aimed to raise $50 million for the schools over three years, fans refused to believe what the video was trying to say. Curry and his wife also wanted to provide quality meals, safe play areas, and access to books for children.

Naturally, fans of the player had to point out how the post was misleading and came to Curry’s defense.

Fans rush to Curry’s defense

With the father claiming that his 8-year-old son saved up $2500 to meet his favorite player, fans called out what they felt was a poorly worded lie.

Another questioned if they had purchased an all-access package that allows fans to meet and talk to the players post-game.

One fan sarcastically commented on how this misunderstanding must obviously make Curry a bad person.

Another user commented on how Curry had already given sneakers away to another fan, hence the original claim of Curry not caring for fans was baseless.

Users also commented on how it was possible for such a young child to save up so much money and concluded that they were probably involved in the re-selling of signed goods.

Currently in the middle of a rebuild with their core of young players, Rockets fans will need to get used to rough nights like this one. The Dubs outscored them in 3 of 4 quarters, and Steph Curry had a highlight play on Dillon Brooks in the 4th, where he toyed with the FIBA WC DPOT twice, before breaking his ankles and scoring a three-pointer. He wheeled away in celebration, pulling a face that made it seem like he was in disbelief at his own skill.
