From the mid-2010s, the NBA saw an unbelievable change in the game. The contemporary basketball offense changed drastically to suit three-point shooting. Behind this change was a player with an “underrated mindset”. But Stephen Curry of the Golden State Warriors never lowered his guards in his pursuit of evolving the game.
Stephen Curry has truly become a modern day great in the NBA. His unparalleled three point shooting has not only changed the game but also cemented his name as one of the greatest point guards of all time. Curry has experienced tremendous success in his time in the league. However, he still seems to be eager to prove his worth.

Stephen Curry talks about his mentality
Stephen Curry has already reached the highest pinnacles of success. The 2 time MVP has led his franchise to the dynasty status in the NBA, winning 4 championships. His undisputed shooting range has propelled the 34 year old to NBA greatness. His Hall of Fame career is definitely worth taking pride in but Curry still feels “underrated”.
In a recent interview, Curry discussed his documentary detailing his days as a Davidson Wildcat, before making it to the NBA. However, when asked about his mentality after years of playing in the league, Curry claimed he still feels underrated.
“It’s a tough one to explain because of what the resume looks like but for me, it’s like the healthy insecurity of the way I’ve seen the game of basketball right from day one, has not changed at all, that underrated mindset oozes out of me at every opportunity,” he claimed.
Curry claimed he still feels underrated but this was a mentality he carried to the league from his Wildcat days.
Curry’s Davidson Days
Stephen Curry joined the Davidson University in 2006 to pursue his basketball journey. However, Davidson was not the most popular college for basketball. When Curry joined the Wildcats, nobody expected him to be great. However, the basketball world was not aware of what it would come to witness.

As the Wildcats’ starting point guard, Curry led the team to unprecedented heights. He made history in his college time, also making an incredible resume for himself to enter the NBA.
Despite choosing an unpopular college for basketball, Curry had a college basketball stint for the ages. His underrated mentality during his time in Davidson is something he carried with him throughout his legendary career.
