GTA online is showing no signs of slowing down even well over 10 years since its release. No product in entertainment has reached $1bn faster than GTA V. And looking back, it’s not hard to see why. Rockstar Games wasn’t satisfied enough with the GTA V campaign. They decided to go a step further dive into the realm of live service gaming. And 10 years later, it’s proven to be their cash cow while players still await GTA 6. Dropping into GTA Online as a solo player can be quite intimidating. The server is full of high-level players and the streets can get rough. Oftentimes, solo players will be swarmed by a gang of other players whose sole mission is to disrupt their gameplay. But that does not mean that a solo player cannot stand their ground. To make the best out of your solo experience in GTA online, you need to know your way around.

To get ahead in the game, solo players need the right weapons, vehicles, and businesses to set up for cash flow. If you want to know exactly what you need to take on other players alone in GTA Online, here are 10 things you can’t afford not have.

1. Good Weapons Loadout

Having a well-rounded weapons loadout is one of the most important things in the game. Whether players want to do some PvP, heists, or just some solo missions, having the right weapons is key. Close-range combat is best handled with the powerful Assault Shotgun. And for medium to long-range engagements, the Special Carbine or Combat Machine Gun is a player’s best bet.

Dealing with ground enemies can be easy by using an RPG or Rail Gun, while the Homing Launcher is best for aerial threats. The AP Pistol is the most useful for drive-by situations. Consider upgrading to Mark 2 variants for enhanced performance, available at armories and workshops in businesses like the agency and the freak shop.

2. Armored Vehicles

Choose armored vehicles based on the situation. The Duke of Death is suitable for missions, being fairly bulletproof. The Armored Kuruma offers increased protection against bullets and is a good all-rounder car that players can get early in the game. Imani tech vehicles like the Virtue and Obey Omni EGT are the best in PvP situations, with armor plating added through the vehicle workshop.

These vehicles are best to avoid cops, other players, and NPCs during missions as they come with armored plating that can survive up to 20 RPG hits.

3. Fast Bike

To do the weekly Time Trial missions in GTA Online, it’s best that players pick up a fast bike for the mission. There are many bikes in GTA Online for players to pick from and One of the best bikes in the game is the Hakuchou Drag, which comes with an HSW Turbo engine, making it one of the fastest vehicles in the game.

An alternative to that is the Pegassi Bati 801, which is one of the fastest vehicles for the PC and last gen consoles.

4. Kosatka Submarine

The Kosatka Submarine gives players the option to purchase the Sparrow helicopter and open the doors to the Cayo Perico Heist. This heist offers payouts ranging from $850,000 to $1.6 million depending on efficiency and has a 2.5-hour cooldown. This will make it easier for solo players to grind money in the game. While other heists need a 4 man crew to pull off, this heist can be handled solo, making it a must-have.

5. Flying Vehicles

The Sparrow (helicopter) is a valuable asset purchased after obtaining the Kosatka submarine. It gives players the choice for a homing missiles upgrade, and quick spawns through the interaction menu. It is also a really good vehicle to use in the Cayo Perico Heist setup missions.

For players who want to splurge more, they can go for the Oppressor Mark 2 which is the best Ariel vehicle for a quick getaway while packing a ton of firepower.

6. Auto Shop

The Auto Shop in GTA Online provides 8 Contracts, which act like mini-heists, and a Vehicle Workshop. Autoshop Contracts offer payouts ranging from $150,000 to $300,000, which is a good source of money. The Vehicle Workshop gives players access to all customization options for vehicles.

7. Salvage Yard

The Salvage Yard offers solo heists, passive income, and discounts on high-end vehicles. Solo heists come in as weekly robbery and their payouts range from $200,000 to $400,000. A future feature will allow the purchase of stolen cars, which will give players access to good cars at a cheap price.

Passive income is generated through salvaging or towing missions, and a wall safe accumulates money based on salvaged vehicles.

8. Passive Businesses

Invest in passive income businesses such as the Acid Lab and Nightclub. After upgrades, the Acid Lab produces $335,000 worth of stock every 4 hours. The Nightclub wall safe accumulates money based on popularity, and the Nightclub warehouse sources various products, earning $50,000 per hour.

This also comes with the option to hire technicians to manage goods after the Warehouse is added to the nightclub. For players who are tired of doing heists, this is another great way to make money in the game.

9. Master Control Terminal

The Master Control Terminal, acquired with an arcade, streamlines business management. It enables the simultaneous oversight of all the businesses from one central location. This helps solo players save time making rounds of the city going from business to business.

10. Agency
