Serena Williams and Venus Williams are one of the greatest players of this generation. They dominated the game just within a few years of their debut, so much so that the Williams name in the last round of tournaments became the normality on the WTA tour. With time, fans were accustomed to their reign and now it has become difficult to let them go. When the 23-time Grand Slam champion announced her retirement, every tennis enthusiast took a trip down the memory lane. Along with the many fans, former American tennis ace, Andy Roddick also expressed his gratitude and admiration.

While in an interview with the tennis channel, Roddick spoke about his fellow Rick Macci’s students. He said, “Frankly, a lot of us in the academy were like you can’t actually become a professional without playing competitive matches in juniors. How ridiculous is that?”
Roddick had more to add.
“Well, guess who is ridiculous? All of us who were second guessing Venus and Serena for their process,” the former World no.1 added.

Both Serena and Venus in their teenage days trained under their father and the world renowned American tennis coach Macci. They received a very distinct and not so tennis like guidance. As Richard believed in increasing their skills rather than throwing them into junior tournaments.
