Canelo Alvarez has made himself a fortune in the sport of boxing. Apart from this, he spends most of his time playing and practising golf. This is a pretty huge possibility that one day Alvarez might try his luck in golf as well. Here is everything that you need to know about Alvarez's golf career.
The day after Álvarez defeated Caleb Plant in November, he celebrated the win by heading to Shadow Creek Golf Course in Las Vegas.
Golf helps distracting Canelo from the rigorous routines required to be a boxer as his golf highlights go viral now along with his knockouts.
His handicap is currently at 10, he says. Last June, Alvarez won a celebrity tournament in South Carolina. “I don’t come to play. I come to win,” Álvarez wrote in an Instagram post.
Álvarez said. “I consider myself a two-sport guy, but I don’t know if I’m a star or not yet in golf.”
Álvarez will represent Mexico in a USA vs. World nine-hole, team matchplay tournament at Liberty National in New Jersey on June 30.
