However, Fournier appealed the decision, after which, the Professional Boxing Association requested both fighters to present their cases, aiming to reach a verdict by 19 May.

Ultimately, on 19 May, the Professional Boxing Association declared the bout a no contest following the appeal, nullifying the previous result.
