Ben Askren is an extremely decorated wrestler and former Olympian. Ahead of his fight this weekend against Jake Paul, we take a look at his journey to the top.

Wrestling Prodigy 

Askren ended his collegiate wrestling career with a record of 153-8. He is a multiple-time Dan Hodge trophy winner and also competed in the 2008 Olympics in freestyle wrestling. 

Bellator MMA 

Askren competed in Bellator MMA from April 2010-July 2013. He won the welterweight belt and defended it four times. 

One championship 

Askren compted in ONE Championship from May 2014- November 2017. He won the welterweight belt and defended it four times. 

UFC career

Askren did not have the most ideal UFC career. In his three fights with the UFC he lost twice and won once. He retired after his loss to Demian Maia in October 2019. 

Boxing Career 

After retiring from the sport and undergoing a hip surgery, Askren returns to take on Jake Paul in a boxing match this weekend. This will be his first bout as a professional boxer
