Ahead of the trilogy fight, Alvarez is giving his blood and sweat to train like never before. One of the most experienced competitors in the world puts a lot of time into practicing his skills, diet, and recovery. Let's look at his training routine ahead of his fight.
Alvarez keeps the day assigned to maintain his training routine. He trains for six days a week with Sunday being a day off. He wakes up at 6 a.m. and works for a few hours. During the afternoon he practices his fight skills from around 2.30 pm.
Alvarez practices his boxing skills every week on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. He practices jump rope, shadowboxing, heavy bag, strategy, and coming up with game plans. While he practices sparring on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.
Alvarez's training routine contains weight cut training which involves strength training with heavy to moderate loads to lose body fat and keep metabolism high while preserving the muscle tissue in a caloric deficit.
Alvarez includes a tiny bit of multiple things to improve his strength and agility. He does bodyweight exercises to build up muscle and strength.
Alvarez follows a strict protein-rich diet and is mostly starch-less. He takes a clean mid meal including cucumber and jicama, fruits and vegetables rich in water and fiber without much calories.
