Amanda Serrano won against Danila Ramos in a historic 12-round women's boxing match. Who's next for Serrano? Let's find out.
In April 2022, Serrano went up against Katie Taylor with Taylor retaining her undisputed lightweight champion title. Serrano talked about a rematch on social media, "I was out w/friends in my island watching #CrawfordSpence & all I heard was When’s the @KatieTaylor rematch? My team @MostVpromotions will be working on that. We both have a fight scheduled but I promise it will happen!"
If the second Taylor fight is delayed, Amanda could potentially take on Alycia Baumgardner, the undisputed super featherweight champion. Baumgardner is open to super fights and is interested in facing Serrano, especially after her undisputed featherweight win.
Jelena Mrdjenovich, second in the WBA rankings, is another potential opponent. She's a former champion in multiple weight classes and has a 2-2 record in her last four fights. After two losses to Erika Cruz for the WBA featherweight title, the 41-year-old secured a victory against Calista Silgado in June.
Nina Meinke is the top-ranked featherweight by the WBC and IBF, and she's third in the WBA rankings. She's on a five-fight winning streak and became the WBA's top contender by defeating Kimika Miyoshi in June. Meinke has previously competed for the featherweight title but lost to Sarah Mahfoud in 2022.
