Early life and boxing 

Pacquiao was born into extreme poverty in Kibawe, Philippines. He was introduced to the sport at age 12 by his Uncle. Slowly, Pacquiao's interest for the sport peaked and he saw it as a means to escape poverty.  

Professional Career 

Pacquiao made his professional debut at the age of 15. He won his first major belt (WBC flyweight title) against Sasakul in 1998. 

Money Fight 

In May 2015, Pacquiao faced Mayweather in the fight of the century. The fight holds multiple records such as live gate, PPV sales, athlete purses among others. 

Records and Awards 

Pacman holds multiple records in boxing. a few of them are- He is the only boxer to win 12 major titles in eight different weight classes. He also holds the record for winning the lineal championship in five weight classes 

Legacy in the sport 

Pacquiao has cemented his place as a ring legend. His achievements in the sport are unparalleled and he is without a doubt one of the greatest fighters ever and certainly one of the best of his generation.
