Prior to the Canelo Alvarez vs. Jermell Charlo match, former UFC fighter Jorge Masvidal shared his thoughts on the upcoming fight. Let's see who will win, according to Masvidal!
In an interview with Fight Hub TV, Masvidal expressed his opinion on who would win. Masvidal anticipated that Charlo would unleash powerful punches; however, he maintained the belief that Alvarez possesses superior skill and refinement in the sport.
Masvidal is "leaning towards Canelo." He stated, "Great fight, I love it. This is what I love to see. Charlo is an undisputed champion and Canelo is one of the best pound-for-pound [fighters] right now. These are the types of fights, this is boxing"
Given Canelo's superior skill and polish compared to Charlo, Masvidal advised Charlo to adopt an aggressive and hard-hitting approach.
He said, "It needs Charlo to be a hard-hitting dog, man. The dude will get tired, pushed through. I think Canelo’s a little bit more skilled, a little bit more polished, a little bit cleaner. He might even have more endurance,” Masvidal stated. “I’m definitely leaning toward Canelo in that fight."
Masvidal commended Canelo for consistently facing the best fighters in the world, emphasizing that he doesn't shy away from tough opponents, "He’s not cherry-picking. As a Canelo fan, he’s fighting the best every time. He’s not ducking anybody."
